Kelby Woodard is a master’s student within the Graduate Degree Program of Ecology. His research project is focused on examining differences in ponderosa pine tree growth and defense characteristics following wildfire and thinning along the Front Range. After completing a B.S. in natural resources management from CSU, Kelby worked seasonal jobs with the Forest Service on both the management and research side of forestry and hopes his project will contribute knowledge to how tree level resistance is affected following disturbance.

For fun, Kelby enjoys bagging peaks, sending climbs, shredding powder, and winning kickball championships.
